Garlic Fingers, or, Keep the Vampires At Bay

Garlic Fingers - I'd never heard of it until I was doing a bit of research on pizza (as you do) and came across this description:

"Garlic fingers or Garlies are an Atlantic Canadian dish, similar to a pizza in shape and size and made with the same type of dough.
Instead of the traditional tomato sauce and toppings, garlic fingers consist of pizza dough topped with garlic butter, parsley, and cheese, cooked until the cheese is melted." (from Wikipedia).

So basically like a giant cheesy garlic bread on pizza dough, right?

I really didn't need any more prompting.

Giant garlic bulb. I used three cloves, just to be on the safe side. Wouldn't want to be under-garliced.
Mixed with 3tbsp melted butter and a good glug of olive oil, 1 tsp salt and some chopped fresh parsley.
Garlic butter done and ready.

I made a standard pizza dough made with 400g flour (instead of 500g), 1 pack (7g) dried yeast, salt and water. Left to rise for about an hour.

Oven heated to max, then rolled out the dough onto a lightly oiled baking tray, spread the garlic butter on it, and then 2 packs of fresh mozzarella torn artistically. A little bit of grated Bergkäse (strong hard cheese) too. And then into the oven it went.

It took about 20 minutes until the cheese had melted enough and the dough was done. And then - THEN! - it looked like this and smelt like GARLIC HEAVEN.

Served with a selection of salads and a large glass of red wine.

Guaranteed to make your house Vampire Free.

A new look, a new direction and a new venture

It's time to start afresh. I've had some ideas bubbling around in my head about what I'd like to do and now is the time for action.
Less thinking, more doing! (I need a teatowel with that on it <notes down idea for accessoires sideline>)

So watch this space. It's all going to get very busy round here soon :)
